I’m a full-time Vancouver website designer and WordPress developer with over 15 years experience in the business. I spent almost 8 years of my early career slaving away in a thankless corporate environment, then spent the next 3 years working in a small tight knit agency setting, and ended helping to found and build a start-up web agency. I learned a lot but alas, none of it was for me.
In November 2010 I decided it was time to pursue my passion and I set out on my own to focus exclusively on freelancing as an independent designer and WordPress developer. As much as I love to craft and design beautiful user experiences and stirring brands, it never felt complete without also building and programming the finished website. Perhaps I’m just too much of a control freak to trust others with my work, or perhaps as a son and grandson of craftsmen, it’s just in my blood to build. In all likelihood it’s a bit of both.
I’m also meddle in the local industry, helping as a Speaker Wrangler for Creative Mornings Vancouver, founding and organizing the annual Interlink Conference and monthly Interlink Workshops. I’ve got a few other top secret projects on the go, that may or may not see the light of day. I’m really never happy if I’m not tinkering with something.
I’m also a proud father of two amazing kids and a lucky husband of 13 years. Family is ultimately what drives me and feeds my passion for building and crafting things that have a life beyond that work. I want to model the tenant my own father passed to me from his father, that a job is only worth doing if you’re going to do it right.
